Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional dichotomy between defiance and submission through a striking use of color and patterns. The chosen palette of pale mint, soft sky, storm gray, near black, and faded gold reflects both a serene presence and an undercurrent of tension. Dominating the center, dark colors create a feeling of defiance, while lighter colors at the edges imply a soft submission, suggesting a clash between two opposing forces. The layout, 'scattered repair', allows for broken pixels to interrupt the flow, mirroring the imperfections and conflicts inherent in both concepts. The main collision occurs in the center, where resistance meets softness, creating a dynamic visual narrative that invites contemplation.
