Artist Statement
The artwork embodies the tension of 'longing' contrasted with 'resolve', using a dark color palette that represents both the weight of longing and the strength of resolve. The palette of navy, black, and accents of dim cyan create a feeling of depth and emotional intensity, while the introduction of white pixels creates ruptures and moments of light. The main collision occurs in the center, where longing's halo pattern integrates into the structured rain pattern of resolve, symbolizing the delicate interplay between hope and despair. The top rows depict longing's scattered essence, while the bottom reflects the firm, yet fluid nature of resolve, maintaining a dynamic tension.
