Artist Statement
The emotional tone embodies a juxtaposition of fear and hope. The color palette includes dark violet and black to represent the oppressive weight of fear, while soft gold and pale green introduce a flicker of hope. The top half of the square employs denser, sharper patterns to evoke the teeth of anxiety, contrasting with the lighter, crosshatched patterns below that signify the easing of tension. A broken pixel scattered within the dark colors symbolizes a breach of hope amid fear, accentuating the feeling of an impending signal. This abstract arrangement promotes a conversation between the two emotions, allowing the viewer to interpret their experience through the visual density and color placements.
