Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional tension between quietude and pressure. The left half, inspired by 'quiet', utilizes soft shades of off-white and faint peach to create a calm atmosphere, while the right half embodies 'pressure' with darker, more compressed colors like dark navy and compressed red. The main collision occurs at the center, where the softer hues give way to the more intense shades, forming a visual conflict that captures the essence of conflicting emotions. The patterns of pressure spark against the gentle bands of quiet, allowing for an interconnected exploration of both states, enhanced by a few broken pixels that represent interruptions or distortions, emphasizing the theme of conflict within unity.
