Artist Statement
This composition conveys the emotional tension between rage and calm through contrasting colors and arrangements. The outer rows, dominated by dense black and sharp red, embody the explosive nature of rage. Meanwhile, the inner 4x4 grid embraces a cooler palette of pale blue and white, representing calm and serenity. The deliberate placement of broken pixels disrupts the otherwise structured calm, indicating how rage seeks to burst through the calm that tries to contain it. The contrast is most evident where the vibrant red and deep black collide with the soft, airy blues, creating a dynamic visual tension. The arrangement suggests a flow from the density of rage outward to a quieter center, embodying the seed's essence of contained vs. overflowing emotions.
