Artist Statement
The emotional tone captures the tension between pressure and quiet. I selected a muted palette of off-white, dust gray, faint peach, compressed red, and dark navy to embody this contrast. The left side features a denser arrangement of red and navy to symbolize compressed pressure, while the right surface softens with softer colors, portraying quiet. The main collision occurs around the center, where the sharp, hard edges of dark colors meet the muted fields, creating an echo of tension. The diagonal flow reflects how pressure can suddenly release, echoing the diagonal argument in the seed. Broken pixels disrupt the symmetry, enhancing the sense of confusion and clarity at once, where perfect balance is intentionally upended, aligning with the theme of shattering against the tide.
