Artist Statement
This artwork channels the emotional dichotomy of fear and hope through contrasting colors and patterns. The palette of black, dark violet, soft gold, and pale green creates a push-pull effect, where the darker tones represent fear's density and jagged edges, while the lighter hues embody hope's glow and upward flow. The zigzag flow emphasizes conflict, as the patterns of 'spark' and 'teeth' collide and intermingle, leaving enough negative space to prevent chaos, reflecting the delicate balance between these emotions.
