Artist Statement
This piece captures the struggle between control and surrender. The palette blends soft, warm colors like powder pink and warm white, evoking a gentle, calming presence, with sharper notes of carbon black and sharp crimson, which introduce tension. The two pulses at the center, represented by deeper colors, create a sense of pressure that conflicts with the lighter, surrendering edges. This collision illustrates an emotional narrative of containment vs. overflow. The use of broken pixels disrupts the symmetry, symbolizing the inevitable imperfections in navigating these feelings, while leaving sufficient negative space enhances the focus on the central struggle without overwhelming the viewer.
