Artist Statement
The juxtaposition of quietness and pressure is represented through the color palette and layout. Dark, muted tones evoke a sense of pressure, while lighter shades suggest quietness and space. The darker colors dominate the grid, creating weighted boundaries that contrast sharply with the edgier, lighter colors that suggest a release or softness. The spiral layout introduces a dynamic rhythm, leading the eye through dense areas to softer edges, embodying the push and pull represented by the seed. Collisions between the softer and harder colors emphasize the dialogue between the two emotional states, with a notable focus on the interaction points, creating a tidal wave of feeling across the 8x8 grid.
