Artist Statement
This composition captures the duality of 'awe vs terror' through a contrasting palette of deep shades and vibrant highlights. The choice of black and dark violet suggests depth and fear, while soft gold and pale green introduce a sense of hope and majesty, creating a conflict in emotional response. The zigzag flow enhances this sense of tension, as if clashing currents are meeting, with dark and light pixels pushed against each other to evoke stability versus instability. Broken pixels add to the chaotic feeling of memory fragments, while the spacious layout provides breathing room, emphasizing the emotional push and pull.
