Artist Statement
This composition embodies the struggle between desire and restraint. The warm hues of hot coral and blood orange reflect the emotional pull of desire in a halo pattern that radiates from the center, suggesting a yearning to expand. In contrast, the muted tones of charcoal and hollow blue represent containment and stillness, symbolizing restraint with a static pattern that acts like a wall. The collision between saturated and muted colors creates a visual tension, predominantly centered to evoke a feeling of restriction against a vibrant backdrop, highlighting the constant push and pull of these emotions.
