Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between longing and resolve, symbolized through contrasting layers of color and pattern. The palette melds warm tones like rose clay and warm shadow with cooler shades like distant lilac and cool blue, suggesting the depth and conflict of emotion. The pattern flow descends like falling rain, representing tears or echoes, while hints of structural strength emerge through the staircase pattern, representing resolve. The collision occurs centrally, where light and dark colors interact to create a focal point, embodying the push and pull between possessing and lacking. Broken pixels introduce subtle disruptions, enhancing the overall sense of imperfection in the pursuit of harmony.
