Artist Statement
This piece encapsulates the emotional conflict between panic and control. The use of a cool palette featuring dark maroon and gray signifies the turmoil of panic, contrasted with softer pink hues that represent control and stability. The patterns evoke a sense of order (mirrored elements) at the periphery, slowly disrupted by bold, chaotic rings of color radiating inward, symbolizing the overwhelming force of panic. The balance of dense color clusters on the edges pushes inwards, creating a visual echo of encroachment and threat, while leaving intentional gaps of negative space that heighten the feeling of unease. This interplay of structured borders and chaotic centers captures the essence of tension between control and chaos.
