Artist Statement
This artwork embodies the emotional tension between relief and dread through a flowing gradient of color tones. The palette features cool shades like pale mint and soft sky to signify relief, juxtaposed with deeper hues of storm gray and near black to evoke dread. The main contrast occurs along the left edge, where dense clusters of darker colors dissolve into lighter, more spacious hues towards the right, simulating a slow exhale of tension. Broken pixels disrupt the pattern, adding a layer of complexity that reflects the chaos inherent in transitioning from pressure to relief, employing the shape seed as a metaphor for fractured emotional landscapes.
