Artist Statement
This artwork conveys a tension between softness and severity, highlighted by the use of a warm, powdery color palette juxtaposed with deep, dark tones. The dominant light colors suggest a sense of serenity, while stark black and crimson marks represent interruptions, creating a pulse-like rhythm. The center of the piece features light hues that radiate outward, embodying openness and vulnerability, while the edges are marked with harsher contrasts, eroded almost violently. This setup visually narrates the emotional dance between guilt (represented by harsh darks) and forgiveness (embodied in the soft pastels), portraying complex feelings of exposure versus shelter.
