Artist Statement
The emotional tone combines the tension of tenderness and rage. The palette of deep red and pale blue contrasts the explosive feeling of rage with the calm of tenderness. The primary collision occurs at the center, where dense clusters of intense colors reflect the struggle between these emotions. The layout of an inner 'island' of sharp red crosshatch patterns encased by calmer blue tones illustrates the push and pull of the emotions, while the broken pixels signify the imperfections experienced in this emotional turbulence.
