Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece explores the tension between loneliness and connection, embracing the contrast of warm and cool colors. The chosen palette of soft pinks and deep maroons serves to evoke feelings of love intertwined with betrayal, where warm tones seek connection but battle against cool, muted grays representing isolation. The top-weighted layout allows a dense cluster of warmth in the upper region to gradually shift toward negative space, emphasizing the loneliness below. The intersections of noise patterns against a grid create a sense of irregularity, mirroring moments of emotional turmoil and striving for unity. The collision of solid tones creates an echo of warmth, yet at the same time, spreads apart to reveal the hidden void beneath. This pattern illustrates the complexity of emotional states—where connection bursts through isolation but is often fleeting and interrupted.
