Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between control and surrender. Using a palette of deep navy, stark black, dim cyan, and a hint of white creates a contrasting atmosphere of loneliness and intensity. The palette reflects solitude (navy) against the chaos of overwhelming forces (black). The dense center with thick outlines represents control, while the surrounding softer, more fluid patterns suggest surrender, flowing outward. The collision occurs at the center, where bright elements interrupt darker fields, creating a dynamic visual narrative of pressure pushing against release. The arrangement posits the viewer in a confined space that gradually leads to quiet, empty edges, echoing themes of containment and overflow.
