Artist Statement
The emotional tone of this piece oscillates between desire and restraint, reflected in the contrasting palette of saturated hues against muted areas. The vibrant colors like hot coral and blood orange occupy the center representing desire, driving outward against a structured charcoal grid that symbolizes the restraints. The main collision occurs in the center, where channels of warm colors press against the veil-like borders of cooler shades, showcasing the tension between longing and limitation. The abstract patterns are organized to evoke spirals, emphasizing a pull towards the edges yet held back by the boundaries.
