Artist Statement

The artwork embodies the emotional tension between control and surrender through a juxtaposition of dark and light colors. The palette leans towards muted tones like blackened plum and iron gray to emphasize a heavy, restrained feeling, while the small orange and muted cream introduce moments of interruption and release. The collision predominates in the central area, where the colors converge creating a broken mirroring effect that symbolizes the struggle and tension of the opposing emotions. The layout reflects a 'mirror_broken' style, with the left and right sides almost symmetrical yet containing deliberate discrepancies to evoke feelings of imbalance. The pattern types take root in the ideas of 'constellation' (control) and 'stack' (surrender), conveying a clash of structured order against chaotic layers. This overall structure fosters a narrative of tension and release, echoing the struggles around control and the yielding character of surrender.
