Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional dichotomy of longing and resolve through a deliberate play of dark and light. The use of a cold navy and deep black juxtaposed with dim cyan creates a visual tension, evoking a sense of yearning yet grounded assertiveness. The pattern features a diagonal flow, where longing, represented by the softer stepwell configuration and lighter accents, occupies one wedge, while the more rigid halo structure of resolve fortifies the opposite wedge, creating a striking collision at the center. Broken pixels throughout serve to amplify the sense of imperfection and repair, echoing the narrative of damage versus resolution. The arrangement maintains negative space to evoke distance, echoing the inner conflict of the emotions at play.
