Artist Statement
This composition reflects the emotional dichotomy of defiance and submission through contrasting colors and arrangements. The use of burnt orange and dark red as the dominant colors embodies a fiery defiance, while the charcoal and gold introduce a subdued, submissive balance. The central 4x4 area represents an intense pulse of defiance, marked by echo patterns, while the edges display static submission—an almost enveloping calm. The uneven distribution of broken pixels symbolizes disruptions and imperfections in this emotional struggle, creating a dynamic visual narrative that captures the essence of tension and release.
