Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional duality of safety and exposure, using a palette that combines soft greens and browns for safety with cooler, more exposed blues and whites. The center features a pale skin tone representing vulnerability while the edges are constructed with protective darker colors portraying boundaries. The juxtaposition creates an echo of pressure versus release, where the outer colors derive from a sense of shelter, wrapping around the more delicate center. Patterns derived from maze and embers create a chaotic tension, intersecting and colliding within the 8x8 grid to evoke emotional responses linked to the seed's themes.
