Artist Statement
This piece expresses the duality of softness and severity through a visual interplay of muted colors and sharp contrasts. The chosen palette of powder pink, warm white, carbon black, steel gray, and sharp crimson creates a dialogue between warmth and intensity, representing emotional divergence. The main collision occurs at the center, where a lighter hue emerges from the darker framing, drawing the eye to the center. The 'mirror_broken' layout offers intentional disruptions in color symmetry, evoking a feeling of tension and balance. The patterns of 'maze' and 'stairs' reflect the complexity and structure of the inner emotional landscape, while broken pixels add nuances of imperfection, suggesting that forgiveness can emerge from guilt.
