Artist Statement
The artwork embodies the emotional dichotomy between longing and resolve, depicted through a palette of deep wine and soft gold to suggest richness and warmth juxtaposed against ash gray representing uncertainty. The main collision happens with the presence of a checker pattern in longing against a lattice structure of resolve, creating a visual tension that reflects the seed’s conversation about repair and damage. The arrangement intentionally leaves negative space to enhance the feeling of distance and longing, as well as overlaps to emphasize the conflict and beauty of connection.
