Artist Statement
The artwork embodies the emotional duality of dread versus relief, embodied through a palette that juxtaposes warm hues with cooler tones. The dense cluster of colors in the upper-left suggests a creeping dread, while the hollow spaces in the bottom-right evoke a sense of relief and subtle calm. The interruption between dark and light shades creates a visual tension that reflects the collision of emotions expressed in the seed. The 'scar' shape seed manifests as a broken line, allowing for moments of both compression and release. The use of broken pixels adds imperfection, enhancing the emotional depth.
