Artist Statement
This artwork explores the duality of joy and grief. The chosen palette of vibrant yellow and orange represents joy, while deep blue and muted purple embody grief. The outer rows are warm, building a sense of optimism, while the inner rows transition to cooler tones, symbolizing the deeper emotional pull of grief. The pattern reflects a collision between light and darkness, creating a dynamic rhythm that resonates with the emotional contrasts present in the seed. The broken pixels introduce an imperfection, emphasizing the chaotic nature of emotional experiences, while maintaining negative space to enhance the feelings of loneliness often associated with grief.
