Artist Statement
This composition explores the emotional tension between safety and exposure, using the palette of 'shelter green' for stability and 'open blue' for vulnerability. The central collision occurs at the vertical split, where the dense warm brown alleys meet the cool whites and pale skin, suggesting an argument where one force presses against the other – safety gradually engulfing exposure but occasionally revealing fragments of vulnerability through broken dots. The use of negative space reflects the tension of these contrasting emotions.
