Artist Statement
This work embodies the emotional duality of fear and hope through a careful juxtaposition of dark and light colors. The black and dark violet create a sense of pressure and fear, echoing the chaotic collisions of emotion, while the soft gold and pale green signify hope, illuminating the piece and suggesting a gradual release from tension. The edge style is bottom-weighted, emphasizing a strong undercurrent of fear while allowing the central golden spark of hope to disrupt the darkness, creating a visual collision and reflective resolution. This layout serves to embrace negative space as a breathing room, acknowledging the emotional complexity of existence.
