Artist Statement
The artwork captures the emotional contrasts of longing and resolve through color and contrast. The soft mint and sky colors represent longing and serenity, while the storm gray and near black introduce the elements of damage and urgency. The dense middle section creates a sensation of tension, encapsulating a 'thread' of connection amongst the pixels. The arrangement mimics an island in a quiet sea, with bursts of color that pulse against the subdued field, creating visual narrative through collision and gradual decay. The inclusion of broken pixels symbolizes imperfections and fractures, enhancing the theme.
