Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional dichotomy between restlessness and peace. The palette, inspired by awe and terror, utilizes deep teals and cosmic indigo to evoke tranquility but is disrupted by the stark contrasts of void black and cold gold. The top half of the grid reflects peace with softer transitions and lighter hues, while the bottom half introduces the chaos of restlessness with stacked, sharper forms and darker tones. The collision occurs centrally, creating a point of tension where the motion of the lower half meets the peaceful patterns above, symbolizing the constant push and pull of these emotions.
