Artist Statement
The emotional tone oscillates between calm softness and strict severity, using gentle pastel shades contrasted with deep, engaging blacks and grays. The palette of warm white and powder pink suggests a serene basis, while sharp crimson and carbon black break through, creating tension. The arrangement splits the square with a heavier bottom, reflecting bottom-weighted emotion as soft static patterns (light colors) on the top clash against severe crosshatch (dark colors), manifesting the ongoing negotiation of guilt and forgiveness. The main collision occurs centrally with sparks of color that echo and interrupt, bouncing against the soft static, reminiscent of pulse marks in a complex emotional landscape.
