Artist Statement
This piece embodies the dynamic tension between tenderness and rage. The palette utilizes deep reds and blacks to represent the intensity of rage while incorporating soft pale blues and whites to convey a sense of calm and tenderness. The predominantly dark colors occupy the top left, signifying upward struggle and emotional pressure, while the pale colors below evoke a sense of quiet release and openness. The checker pattern of the tender colors collides with jagged, abrupt red shapes symbolizing rage, creating a visually engaging balance of overwhelming emotion and gentleness. Broken pixels add imperfection, enhancing the abstract narrative of conflict and resolution.
