Artist Statement
This artwork explores the contrasting emotions of relief and dread through a palette inspired by faded memories, utilizing sepia and dust gray for depth and weight. The collision occurs where the lighter tones of faded blue break into the dense noise of darker colors, creating a visual tension. The pattern, inspired by corner invasion, features top-weighted blocks that convey an oppressive presence, while the randomized noise offers a sense of relief. Soft edges enhance the emotional complexity, allowing for a gentle transition between heavy saturation and negative space.
