Artist Statement
This piece explores the emotional duality of rage and calm, creating a sense of tension that flows horizontally across the canvas. The left side employs muted blacks and deep reds to represent compression and density of rage, while the right features soft pale blues and whites to evoke the tranquility of calmness. Each color choice amplifies the contrast, with sharp edges introducing interruptions between calm stretches and chaotic bursts, symbolizing the struggle between these emotions. The broken dots and targeted shapes allow for a narrative of collision within the tranquil landscape, where emotional battles unfold quietly yet intensely.
