Artist Statement
The emotional tone combines envy and gratitude, expressed through color placement and contrast. The palette of lime, black, electric blue, and magenta invokes an intense emotional spectrum, where the vibrant lime and electric blue collide with the darker black and magenta, intensifying the visual narrative. The contrast type creates a dynamic interplay between straight and curved forms, establishing a rhythm that rises diagonally across the square. Broken pixels introduce an imperfection that mirrors the emotional turmoil of collisions and the subsequent release, allowing negative space to breathe amidst the occupied pixels, achieving balance and creating tension. This design encapsulates the essence of human emotion, revealing both the pressure of unresolved feelings and the potential for release.
