Artist Statement
The emotional tone is derived from the tension of defiance and submission, creating a rich interplay of contrast. The chosen palette of red and black represents intensity and conflict, while pale blue and white introduce a calm counterbalance. The abstract pattern emerges from the 4x4 central core of white and pale blue, juxtaposed against a dark outer layer, showing the collision of emotions. Broken pixels introduce imperfection, emphasizing the notion of unpredictability within emotional experiences. The flow from top to bottom allows for a tension build-up, where the lower section appears denser than the upper, illustrating a release of pressure. The arrangement and contrast create a dynamic story without overt imagery, celebrating emotional complexity.
