Artist Statement
This artwork captures the struggle between ignition and quiet decay. The palette echoes faded memories with muted tones of sepia and dust gray, interspersed with bursts of faded blue representing fleeting sparks. The dominant ash colors occupy 70% of the grid, symbolizing restraint against the vibrant spark-like colors that disrupt the surface throughout. The collision is most vivid in the center, where stacked patterns of color meet the jagged edges, evoking a sense of pressure and release amidst memory and erasure.
