Artist Statement
This artwork explores the tension between vulnerability and strength, represented through the use of a rich, warm palette (burnt orange, dark red) against stark, cool tones (charcoal, gold). The borders of the square feature heavy, dense colors, symbolizing strength and protection, while the central area remains open and exposed, suggesting vulnerability. The placement of the lighter colors creates an echo of the warmth, colliding rhythmically with darker shades, establishing a focal point in the center and drawing the eye inward. The broken pixel elements introduce a sense of imperfection, mirroring the complexities of the emotional narrative this piece conveys, bridging themes of connection and alienation through the intersection of colors.
