Artist Statement
The artwork expresses a duality between defiance and submission, represented in a horizontal split. The upper half uses a warm palette of burnt orange and dark red to suggest intensity and resistance, while the lower half employs muted charcoal and gold, conveying a sense of quiet surrender. The chosen palette illustrates fiery determination juxtaposed against soft acceptance. The collision occurs at the vertical midpoint, where the intensity of stripes in the top half crashes into the softer fault line patterns below, creating a pronounced contrast. The influence of the seed leads to shapes that suggest a crack evolving into a ring, emphasizing the evolving dynamics between pressure and release.
