Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional tension between restlessness and peace through contrasting colors. The top four rows utilize cooler tones (deep teal and void black) representing peace, while the bottom four rows burst with brighter colors (cold gold and cosmic indigo), signifying an unsettled emotional state. The 'braid' and 'crosshatch' patterns intersect in the center where they collide, creating visual tension. Negative space is deliberately maintained to enhance the sense of motion and disturbance versus calmness.
