Artist Statement
This piece evokes the emotional conflict between defiance and submission through a stark contrast between dark and vivid colors. The palette—a mix of bold electric blue and sharp magenta against the grounding black—creates a tension that reflects the struggle between lightness and weight in relationships. The left side bursts with the flame-like patterns of defiance, represented in warmer tones, while the right side embodies submission through softer spark impressions of blue and black. The flow of the colors from left to right underscores an unresolved motion, hinting at a transitional state, echoing the themes of noise and betrayal. Broken edges in the design bring a sense of imperfection, capturing the rawness of the emotions at play.
