Artist Statement
This composition embodies the tension between desire and emptiness through the juxtaposition of warm and cool colors. The palette of yellows and muted purples presents a dialogue of joy and grief, enhancing the passionate essence of the emotional collisions. The top four rows (representing desire) showcase a rhythmic interplay of mirrored patterns, reflected in yellows and oranges, while the bottom four rows (embodying emptiness) use broken dots of muted purples and deep blues, creating a sense of quiet opposition. The conflict is visually unraveled by jagged edges and a split horizontal layout, producing a poignant narrative of pressure against release across the grid.
