Artist Statement
This composition expresses the emotional dichotomy of vulnerability and strength through contrasting colors and patterns. The chosen palette of deep blacks and pale blues creates a striking tension between the strong, dense bases (black) and the exposed lightness (pale blue) indicating vulnerability. The collision of these emotions occurs predominantly in the center, where the dark islands (strength) are interrupted by a halo of lighter hues (vulnerability), symbolizing the pressure border—an emotional defense that can break or hold. The chosen patterns, for strength (islands) and vulnerability (halo), intertwine yet clash, creating a visual representation of conflict and complexity, reflecting the seed's themes of crossing currents and balanced tension.
