Artist Statement
This artwork encapsulates the emotional duality of longing and resolve through a restricted, yet dynamic palette of green, blue, and high-contrast colors. The central conflict arises from the collision of jagged patterns reminiscent of 'crack' with smoother, more fluid 'flame' patterns. Broken pixels signify the interruptions and imperfections in both emotions, while the layout inspired by 'island and sea' allows a dense core of resolve to radiate throughout a quieter expanse of longing. The vibrant accents offer tension against subdued backgrounds, inviting the viewer to feel the push-pull between hope and struggle.
