Artist Statement
This piece embodies the emotional conflict between relief and dread. The palette of pale mint, soft sky, and faded gold suggests a soothing atmosphere, while storm gray and near black represent the heaviness of dread. The arrangement creates a collision of light rippling against dense, maze-like forms, predominantly featuring the shadowy colors that invoke an underlying tension. The broken pixels inject imperfections into the ordered chaos, echoing the fractures in calmness. The central area is dominated by dark tones, representing dread, while lighter hues infiltrate from the edges, creating a sense of gradual relief amidst the oppressive weight.
