Artist Statement
This composition captures the emotional interplay between softness and severity. The palette contrasts the warmth of powder pink and warm white with the starkness of carbon black and sharp crimson. The main collision occurs where soft, dot-like patterns encroach upon harsh, barcode-style lines, creating tension across the grid from the bottom left corner, while maintaining a quiet space in the top right—a space for contemplation amidst conflict. The broken pixels introduce an intentional imperfection, echoing the emotional struggles of guilt and forgiveness, and allowing noise to seep through the gentle surface. This arrangement invites the viewer to feel both the heaviness and lightness, reflecting the complexity of human emotion.
