Artist Statement
This composition embodies the emotional interplay between longing and resolve, contrasting the soft warmth of longing with the firm clarity of resolve. The palette features soft powder pinks and warm whites alongside deep carbon blacks and vivid steel grays to evoke a sense of tension. The left half of the square introduces a pattern with flowing marks to suggest abandonment and desire, while the right half utilizes a halo pattern, imposing structure that speaks to resolution. The main collision occurs in the center, where these two patterns intersect, creating visual friction and transforming longing into resolve, fostering an atmosphere of complex emotional dialogue. The broken pixels disrupt the flow, adding intentional 'scars' that symbolize the impact of repair versus damage, echoing the complexities of the seed's themes.
