Artist Statement
This artwork captures the emotional dichotomy of relief and dread. The deep black and dark violet colors represent dread, creating a heavy foundation. In contrast, the soft gold and pale green emerge asymmetrically, symbolizing relief, echoing through the darker spaces like glimmers of hope against weight. The composition's layout frames the contrasting feelings by emphasizing a jagged edge, which represents brokenness and interruption.
