Artist Statement
This composition reflects the emotional tension between longing and resolve through a juxtaposition of stark colors and contrasting patterns. The chosen palette of soft powder pink and warm white against the severity of carbon black and sharp crimson creates a visual narrative of both tenderness and intensity. The arrangement intentionally allows the black to form a dominant space, representing the intensity of resolve, while the pink hues and breaks in the black suggest the remaining longing. The main contrast centers in the middle of the square where the black sharply meets the lighter colors, embodying the collision of two opposing feelings. Broken pixels are distributed throughout, symbolizing the imperfections in resolving inner conflict, while the negative space allows the emotions to breathe, echoing the unresolved nature of the themes.
